Honest Adam

Adam brought this home from school yesterday.  He said they learned about Abraham Lincoln in class.  I asked what he learned and he said, "Well...he was famous.  And Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President.  And his face is on the $5 and the penny."  Right!  I told him.  What else?  "That's pretty much it."  Oh.  And then you made your hat and beard?  "Yep."  

I guess it's too early to talk about the Civil War or slavery or the modernization of finance and economics.  Or assassination.  So, yeah, famous President on some money pretty much covers it in the mind of a 5-year-old.

That's quite a presidential face, no?
